According to several sources, the Executive Director of the Wagh Bakri Tea Group, which owns the Wagh Bakri tea brand, died at the age of 49. His wife Vidisha and daughter Parisha survive him.

Desai collapsed outside his home on October 15 while attempting to flee street dogs who had attacked him, according to the Ahmedabad Mirror. Desai was brought to the neighbouring Shelby Hospital for treatment after a security officer informed the family of the event. After a day of observation, he was sent to Zydus Hospital for operation, according to reports.

 

According to The Times of India, Desai died on October 22 at a private hospital in Ahmedabad after being on a ventilator for seven days.

Rasesh Desai, the Managing Director of the Wagh Bakri Tea Group, was the son of Parag Desai.

Desai, who has been in business for almost 30 years, was in charge of the company’s sales, marketing, and export departments. The company’s revenue exceeds Rs. 1500 crore.

Desai, a significant industry leader and prolific tea taster, was a member of the Federation of Indian Industry (CII), among other organisations.

Desai is described as “an expert tea taster and evaluator” on the Wagh Bakri website. He also has an MBA from Long Island University in the United States, according to the report.

 

 

 

Wagh Bakri Tea Group executive director Parag Desai died today at the age of 49, according to the company’s social media. He died in hospital on Sunday after suffering a brain haemorrhage following a tumble last week.
“With profound grief, we regret to inform you of the sad demise of our beloved Parag Desai,” the company wrote on Instagram.

 

He was sent to the hospital last week and was being treated for a severe head injury sustained when he fell near his home. According to sources, he was attacked by street dogs, which caused the disaster.

 

Congress MP Shaktisinh Gohil expressed his sympathies on X, writing, “Very sad news coming in. Wagh Bakri Tea’s Director and Owner, Parag Desai, died. Following a tumble, he suffered a brain haemorrhage. May his spirit find peace. “My heartfelt condolences to the entire Wagh Bakri family throughout India,” Congress MP Shaktisinh Gohil stated on Twitter.

 

He was one of Wagh Bakri Tea Group’s two executive directors, and he oversaw the company’s transition into tea lounges and e-commerce.

 

He was in charge of the company’s sales, marketing, and export departments. He was also a skilled tea taster and judge.

Narandas Desai created the Wagh Bakri Tea Group in 1892. It now has a 2,000 crore turnover.

Desai sustained a brain haemorrhage last week after falling during a morning walk in a park.

He had been hospitalised for a week.

In an Instagram post, the company said, “With profound grief, we regret to inform the sad demise of our beloved Parag Desai.”
